TON618 by Y-WSL

Introduction and Creative Context

At Y-WSL, our passion for watchmaking is a family tradition passed down from generation to generation. This passion, combined with our fascination for astronomy, inspired us to create the TON618, a watch that embodies our ultimate vision of what a perfect timepiece could be. The name of the watch itself, TON618, is a nod to one of the most massive known black holes, symbolizing our desire to push the boundaries of engineering and watchmaking art.

The TON618 you see here is just one of countless possible versions of this watch. Each model is designed to offer total creative freedom, allowing every owner to transform their horological dream into reality. We designed this watch not with the market's desires in mind, but by fulfilling the dream of a watch we wanted to own. Every detail has been meticulously crafted to provide a unique and personalized experience for each owner, making every watch truly one of a kind.

Technical Features and Design

The presented TON618 is distinguished by its titanium case, providing exceptional robustness while remaining surprisingly light. The dial, a work of art in itself, features a radiant pattern in a sumptuous purple hue, surrounded by a titanium frame. The tourbillon cage is also made of titanium, demonstrating our commitment to using the finest materials for every component.

The watch features an exclusive movement, the NGC2020, another tribute to our passion for astronomy. This intricate mechanism comprises hundreds of components, each crafted with exceptional care and dedication. Every part is meticulously hand-finished, employing time-honored techniques and craftsmanship.

Complications and Features

The TON618 is equipped with eight major complications, each designed to offer not only functionality but also a refined user experience:

Flying Tourbillon: A marvel of precision, compensating for the effects of gravity to enhance accuracy.

Moon Phase and Moon Age: Elegant complications displaying the current state and age of the moon, adding a poetic dimension to time reading.

Retrograde Date: A date display that automatically resets to zero at the end of each month.

Subdial Seconds: A subtle small seconds display enhancing the sophistication of the dial.

Stop Seconds and Reset Seconds: Allowing precise time setting, with the second hand automatically resetting to zero during adjustment.

Gyroscopic Power Reserve: Offering a chronometric autonomy of 110 hours.

Function Selector: An intuitive mechanism allowing easy selection and adjustment of various functions via the crown.

Innovation and Craftsmanship

Customization is at the heart of the TON618 experience. We offer each client the possibility to choose from an almost unlimited range of materials and finishes. Whether it's for the case, lugs, dial, or even the bridges of the movement, which each client can "design" to their liking, every element can be tailored to the collector's desires. The only constants are the layout of the complications and the general shape of the watch, ensuring design integrity while allowing for extreme personalization.

Every TON618 watch is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship, entirely hand-assembled by our exceptional watchmaker, Olivier Mory, a former GPHG jury member. The decoration and finishes, carried out by master artisans, adhere to the highest standards in the industry, offering superior quality beyond what is typically expected.

Durability and Resistance

With exceptional resistance to stress (drops and others), the TON618 is designed to last. This robustness results from innovative case architecture and a meticulous choice of materials. The watch is also water-resistant to 5 ATM, allowing for daily use with complete peace of mind.

Production and Ordering Process

The production of the TON618 is deliberately limited to 30 pieces per year, ensuring exclusivity and meticulous attention to every detail. The ordering process is a collaborative journey where each client discusses their desires with our team, then receives a photorealistic 3D rendering before final production. This ensures that each watch perfectly meets the unique expectations of its future owner.

Warranty and Service

To further our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, each TON618 is covered by a lifetime warranty. This warranty extends to the entire watch, except for the strap. The only condition is to have the watch serviced at least every five years, a complimentary service to ensure continued performance.

We hope you enjoy discovering the TON618 as much as we enjoyed creating it. Each watch is more than just a time-measuring instrument; it is a statement of style, innovation, and passion for watchmaking.

Sustainability
At Y-WSL, sustainability is a core principle that guides our production process. For the production pieces created for our clients, we implement several practices aimed at minimizing our environmental impact. We prioritize using recycled alloys, such as recycled steel and titanium, thereby supporting the circular economy and reducing our demand for newly mined resources. All our production processes are designed to minimize energy consumption. Each timepiece is crafted to order, eliminating the need for mass production and reducing waste. We use traditional and hand-operated machinery as much as possible to limit our electrical consumption. We have also eliminated hazardous chemicals from our cleaning processes. We use water-based cleaning solutions and alcohol for rinsing, ensuring safe and environmentally friendly methods for all produced pieces. In our production, we aim to maximize resource efficiency. By producing only the number of watches ordered, we minimize material waste and excess inventory. This careful planning ensures that each piece we create is a masterpiece of horology while reflecting our commitment to sustainable practices. Each TON618 is handcrafted by master horologists using techniques perfected over generations. This approach not only guarantees unmatched quality but also reduces our reliance on energy-intensive, automated manufacturing processes. The TON618 is designed for exceptional durability, capable of withstanding daily wear while maintaining its pristine condition. Our commitment to lifetime service and maintenance further extends the lifespan of each watch, promoting long-term use and reducing the need for frequent replacements. Our packaging also reflects our commitment to sustainability. We use materials that are either recyclable or made from recycled content, ensuring that every aspect of the TON618’s journey from our workshop to your wrist is environmentally responsible. Furthermore, to offset our carbon footprint, we commit to planting trees each year. This initiative helps to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and supports global reforestation efforts. By integrating these sustainable practices into the heart of our operations for future productions of the TON618, we ensure that each watch represents not only the pinnacle of horological artistry but also positively contributes to our planet. At Y-WSL, we believe that luxury and sustainability can and should go hand in hand.
