Each collector can choose his own one-of-a-kind creation
TIME TO RACE is not a limited series, but a set of one-of-a-kind creations that place watch lovers in the driving seat by embodying an essential theme in contemporary watchmaking: personalization.
Collectors will be able to personalise their model by selecting a one or two-digit “lucky number” that will appear on the hour and minute sub-dial at six o’clock, along with a dedicated colour code: Racing Green, Rosso Corsa, or French blue. Louis Moinet guarantees that each number/colour combination will be made only once, ensuring each watch remains unique to its designer. The high-polished sub-dial will be crafted from neoralithe which boasts incredible colour fastness and intensity.
A strong creation — a new show
At the heart of the Louis Moinet TIME TO RACE chronograph is the fully visible movement, proudly displayed on the dial-side beneath a swooping, high-domed sapphire crystal that offers an unprecedented panoramic view of the mechanism. Developing the crystal took two years as the artisans of Louis Moinet worked tirelessly to conceive and realise a sapphire component that would, in reality, comprise the entire top half of the case.
The racing spirit
This ingenious and original crystal profile gave Louis Moinet’s design team the chance to play around with the scales displayed on the chapter ring. Instead of one scale, there are now two: a tachymeter and a separate 60-second display.
The tachymeter stands out for its vivid yellow quarter, made from neoralithe, an avant-garde material. Better still, these scales can be read in the dark thanks to the indications being printed in Super-LumiNova — perfect for nighttime racing!
Complexity and clarity — a winning combination
The dual-indication chapter ring frames a woven carbon fibre mainplate highlighting the 147 components of the horizontal clutch chronograph mechanism. It also provides the reading contrast that is so useful during chronograph operations, indicated by the large coloured hand and one of the two smoke-coloured counters.
Operated by a single pusher at two o’clock, the chronograph mechanism takes centre stage. With a single click, a previously hidden choreography of components takes place before your eyes. The high-walled sapphire reveals a previously unseen profile view of the mechanism in action and, when teamed with the polished and satin-brushed grade 5 titanium case, weighing just 18 grams, it makes for a truly incredible wearing experience. Ergonomically designed with comfort in mind, the eye-catching green rubber strap flows seamlessly from the case, confirming the sporty character of the watch and ensuring that this show-stopping piece will remain a favourite for years to come.
