With the Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Genève, Louis Vuitton reinterprets its Tambour watch, in a more futuristic and more technical version. The master watchmakers of the Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton have succeeded in combining avant-garde technologies with the traditional Haute Horlogerie know-how. The Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Hallmark of Geneva uses technical, ultra-light and resistant materials for its case, the CarboStratum®, a unique composite material developed for Louis Vuitton.
The challenge of this watch result in the perfect color match between exteriour and interior, requiring hours of research and develppement.
Each case is made up with carbon layers stacked with a random change of fiber orientation. The thin sheets of carbon fibers are compressed together in a heated mold with blue epoxy. Then the material is processed, giving birth, each time to a unique case. 8 hours is needed to process each single case.
This model is equipped with an innovative mechanical movement treated with blue PVD, endowed with 80 hours of power reserve and a tourbillon regulator. The titanium tourbillon carriage, placed at 9 o'clock, is inspired by the Louis Vuitton Monogram.
More than 120 hours of work on the movement are necessary to reach the level of technical requirements imposed by the Poinçon de Genève certification.
