Carl Suchy & Söhne, founded in 1822 and revived as Austria’s leading horological house, presents the Table Waltz Tourbillon — the first tourbillon created in Vienna in over 100 years.
More than a timekeeper, it is a horological sculpture — merging design, mechanical innovation, and cultural heritage into a singular expression of Austrian excellence.
Limited to just ten pieces, this table clock embodies the maison’s vision of contemporary Viennese Haute Horlogerie. At its core lies the CS-T-1 tourbillon movement, developed and produced entirely in Austria. The tourbillon, composed of over 50 custom-made components, rotates on its own axis. The dark, satin-finished case, milled from a single block of brass and refined using a special nickel-plating process, serves as a stage for this mechanical choreography.
Designed by acclaimed Viennese designer Rainer Mutsch, and masterfully engineered by Austrian watchmaker Therese Wibmer, the Table Waltz Tourbillon unites form and function at the highest level of craftsmanship.
The movement is framed by two crystal panels — front and back — crafted in partnership with the renowned Viennese glassmaker J. & L. Lobmeyr. These hand-cut, faceted panels are seamlessly integrated into the case’s form, offering an uninterrupted view of the timepiece’s tourbillon movement and the gold-plated silver bell. The bell chimes on the hour, producing an airy, crystalline tone — a sound as refined and graceful as the mechanism itself.
With its rare construction, architectural clarity, and cultural significance, the Table Waltz Tourbillon is not only a tribute to Vienna’s legacy — it is a masterpiece of modern horology.
