B012B Space Traveler

“BEHRENS” is a small independent watch brand focusing on design and develop modification of movements by constructing in-house mechanical module to offer a varieties functional time display. From which our main concept is to display time in an all new non-tradition way and to be creative.

B012 – SPACE TRAVELER is a mechanical wristwatch we have developed base on the inspiration of spaceship travel obit around planets. From which we have adopted the 9-series automatic movement from 'Miyota' (one of the most stable and reliable mechanical movement from Japan) and then we heavily modified it by installing a fully in-house developed mechanical module which we have completely designed and constructed in-house.

Unlike the traditional time display by hands, this B012B model uses 2 rotating sapphire discs which self-rotate instantly alongside with the whole module’s mechanism that will turn 1 revolution each hour. The function of these 2 sapphire discs is to represent time in hours and minutes by the number display on these sapphire discs along with indicator in red.

Furthermore, in order to show the time in the dark, we have also constructed luminous base plates under these sapphire discs alongside with other luminous markers on the dial so that time can easily be read in the dark. Whereas in the center, we have used a skeletonized metal frame to represent the seconds which rotate 1 revolution for every 60 seconds.

The whole mechanical module constructed on the dial is being built to offer a touch of visually 3-dimensional feeling as well as metallic touch to match the theme of space traveling. Each of these watches has been fully tested for weight balancing and have achieved a minimum of power lost due to the weight of the whole mechanical module.  

The dial comes with 2 versions, fume blue and mat black, both with luminous deco that grow in the dark. There is also a ‘Date’ display window at 4:00 position that extend the functional of this piece.
