Skeleton movement
The Sisu is a Finnish made skeleton watch, manufactured by Jurmo Watches. The timepiece gets its name from a distinctly Finnish concept called “Sisu”, signifying willpower and perseverance.
After several years of persistent work, Jurmo Watches successfully developed an inhouse composite technology that allows creation of optical coatings with color schemes not accessible through any other method.
The technology has been applied on the movement bridges of the Sky Blue version of Sisu, creating an industry first turquoise colored skeleton movement. The timepiece is a synergy between a Swiss made movement and Finnish technology. The ETA 6497 movement is skeletonized in Switzerland and surface treated inhouse with a proprietary process to precisely create the right thickness and uniformity.
Honoring the tradition of Finnish craftsmanship, the watch contains notable inhouse components and work : The steel hands are entirely handmade, from manually turned and riveted tubes to the brushed surface finishing and application of Super-LumiNova. All dial prints are made using a traditional pad printing technique. Attention to detail can be seen in the contrasting finishing of brushed and polished surfaces on the watch case, watch hands and faceted, high polished applied markers on the dial. Finally, the watch and movement are assembled at the Jurmo workshop on the shorelines of the Baltic Sea in the Helsinki region.
