Upside Down / Pink Hours

With his first in-house creation, Upside Down, Ludovic Ballouard had the idea of creating a unique highly complicated and eccentric timepiece with a twist in its presentation of time as he questions our relationship with time. This year Ludovic presented an Upside Down / Pink Hours with a pink Mother of Pearl dial in a red gold case which is limited to 12 pieces.

The only numeral that is displayed the right side up is the present hour, constantly reminding you that the most important time is the present. All numerals are displayed upside down except the present hour and are each set on their own disc on the dial independent of the other numerals, once the minute hand reaches a full hour the past hour numeral instantly turns 180 degrees upside down while the present hour turns the right side up with a dot that appears next to the hour making it even easier for you to read time.

The way time is presented in the Upside Down should remind you how important it is to live in the moment. The past time and the future time are, literally, presented upside down to tell you that there should be no regrets about the past which you cannot change and no qualms for the future which you don’t know anything about.
