BEHRENS Inventor – Orion One
Unearthed from the depths of a mysterious abandoned vessel travelling through outer space, this object lay dormant for millennia within its crystalline chamber. Dubbed the "Orion One" by interstellar researchers, this enigmatic relic embodies the ancient knowledge of a lost civilization where technology, artistry, and mysticism were seamlessly intertwined.
The Functions
The “Orion One” contains the embodiment of several original patents, including a newly designed and developed patented lever type winding/setting mechanism. The concept allowsthe crown to be replaced by a hidden, integrated lever to allow for an uninterrupted visual flow of the case’s lines and edges.
BEHRENS specially developed a custom, in-house module for the Orion One time displayand it’s packed with several useful features. At twelve o’clock, it sports a linear retrograde24-hour indicator. Additionally, a magnified date function is displayed at 1:30 position. At six o’clock, the twin rollers display the hours and minutes, driven by a series of special pinion gearing mechanisms. The rollers’ numerals feature a 3D aesthetic (with luminous material) to offer an element of depth and to increase the legibility. At the center of the dial is the small round sub-dial with a raised seconds hand, serving as the Mothership’s "Radar ". In addition, the closed case back of the watch is engraved with the outline shape of this Alien sculpture.
The Case
The BEHRENS Orion One takes inspiration from an alien Mothership, traveling the universe. From this idea came the Orion One’s unique silhouette. The 316L stainless steel case has up to 40 facets, carefully shaped and polished through several complex processes, and three windows allowing a glance at the mystery within.
The watch measures an 44mm (length) x 38mm (width), with a thickness of 12.6mm, and a water resistance of 30m.
The Strap
The Orion One is supplied with two quick-release pin buckle straps made of fluoroelastomer rubber for higher oxidation resistance; one in white and the other in black.
