The MP collection is dedicated to complication watches and extraordinary movements, which are the fruit of cutting-edge research in the field of mechanics and engineering in Hublot's Complications Workshop. In 2011, the Hublot HUB 9002 calibre made its début inside the MP-02 Key of Time and gave time a new dimension. Breaking the traditional rules of watchmaking, it embodies Hublot's spirit of invention.In 2015, the MP-12 Key of Time Skeleton fuses two of Hublot's iconic codes: the "All Black" concept and the "Aero" architecture. The heart of this exceptional timepiece is the HUB 9012 movement – a brand new skeleton movement – which can vary the measurement of time by speeding it up or slowing it down. Thanks to a mechanical memory, it can return to real time at any point. In the speed up position (4 times faster), an hour in real time is shown to pass in a quarter of an hour on the dial; in the slow down position (4 times slower), a quarter of an hour in real time is shown to pass in an hour on the dial. The MP-12 Key of Time Skeleton relativizes the notion of time. Although the passage of time is invariable, it can seem to pass more quickly or more slowly at certain moments in our lives and depending on our circumstances. The MP-12 Key of Time Skeleton enables you to vary how the passage of time is displayed, to take it at your own pace.
 
Its black PVD-coated titanium case is fitted with two crowns: the first, positioned at 3 o'clock, is used to adjust the time and manually wind the movement; the second, at 9 o'clock, is used to select the speed at which time is shown to pass. Easy to read, the hours and minutes are displayed in two concentric circles. The speed up/slow down mode is shown by two red sliding indicators. At 6 o'clock, a vertical flying tourbillon is visible via a circular opening, on the strap side. Completing one rotation per minute, the tourbillon sets the tempo of the seconds disc displayed in a horizontal counter. The power reserve of approx. 120 hours is shown at 8 o'clock.
 
Its sapphire dial offers an impressive view of the original architecture of the skeleton movement in anthracite ruthenium and its micro-blasted and satin-effect finishes. It comprises some 512 components which put Hublot's rationale of time into perspective.
 
Paired with a high-tech rubber strap with a black composite insert, the MP-12 Key of Time Skeleton is available in a 20-piece limited edition.
