Milus Eridana Joaillerie “Enamel”
Both graceful and extravagant is the overriding impression of the ERIDANA Joaillerie “Enamel”, an exceptional jewel watch from the Swiss watchmaker Milus, which becomes a real eye-catcher through its harmonious blend of precious materials with traditional and unique jewellery craftsmanship. The extremely complex art of enamelling was applied masterfully for this model and transformed into a sophisticated design. The combination of traditionally made “Grand Feu” enamel with the delicate case in 18-carat gold adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds is inspiring.
Taking its name from the constellation Eridanus“, the design of the delicate, gently curved ERIDANA watch line is inspired by the mystic river after which the star constellation is named. A graceful representative of this elegant Milus collection is the new ERIDANA Joaillerie “Enamel”. With its marriage of the finest materials – merged to achieve an exquisite grace – this synthesis of watch and piece of jewellery shines out in its most enchanting form: the narrow, elegantly curved yellow-gold case nestles gracefully on the wrist of its sophisticated wearer and evokes images of a cheetah: its dark brown enamel areas are reminiscent of modified animal skin, surrounded by a stream of gold and white brilliant-cut diamonds to mind the beauty and grace of a wild cat. Its perfectly matching strap in beige-brown python leather lends an additional touch of individuality and extravagance.
Another exclusive composition offers the Eridana Joaillerie “Enamel” with the case in 18-carat white gold decorated with white brilliant-cut diamonds and combined with black fields of Enamel “Grand Feu”. The colour-matched black strap in moire rounds off the elegant appearance of this sophisticated ladies' collection.
Concentration on exceptional value and authenticity make Milus watches real treasures: absolute perfection and attention to detail are reflected in the exclusively handcrafted adornment of the precious jewel watch with enamel “Grand Feu” and brilliant-cut diamonds. True to the Milus philosophy, only genuine enamel consisting of a mixture of lead oxides and quartz sand is used yielding a chemical composition resembling that of glass. The technique chosen for ERIDANA Joaillerie “Enamel” is called “Champlevé”. In this extremely demanding and intricate technique, small pieces of glass in water are ground into fine grains in a mortar. These granules are repeatedly washed and the clean, pulverised glass paste is then applied carefully with a brush to the precisely prepared indentations corresponding to the watch design and then fused to the gold base at high temperature (800 – 860°C).
A total of five of these elaborate layers cover the gold base to produce the resulting enamel areas. As a finishing touch, the enamel is ground with a stone and then polished by hand to lend it an attractive smoothness and sheen. The adornment with brilliant-cut diamonds is also carried out by hand – a graceful stream of 123 white brilliant-cut diamonds accentuates the enamel surfaces with its intense brilliance.
Precious brilliant-cut diamonds, sparkling like stars, frame also the white mother of pearl watch face like a valuable painting. Four diamonds instead of index or figures provide stylish orientation at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. Another brilliant-cut diamond adorns a prominent position adding an exquisite touch to the artistically crafted crown. The untiringly rotating hands capture countless delightful hours and minutes.
With its extravagant beauty and grace, the ERIDANA Joaillerie “Enamel” by Milus celebrates the preciousness of time – enrobed in the charm of individuality and elegance.
