In this wonderful 2024, Damiani celebrates its first century, a prestigious milestone for the historic Valenza-based company, representing Italian excellence today as much as 100 years ago. On this occasion, the Maison has created 100 masterpieces, the ‘summa’ of 100 years of history portrayed through the five values of Italianness, among which is creativity, expressed by the Margherita collection. Margherita is indeed the tangible expression of Italian creativity: inspirations harmoniously come together in the precious jewels made in the Valenza workshops.

Fascinated by the beauty, regal bearing and strong character of Margherita of Savoy, the founder Enrico Grassi Damiani drew up sketches taking on the challenge of giving form to these values: the form of the flower named after his muse, 'margherita' the daisy. Those early ideas, carefully treasured in the Damiani archives, are revived in the details of the jewels of the Margherita collection. The Damiani jewellery captures the charm, personality, and allure of Margherita of Savoy - a member of the Italian royal family during the years when she was at Umberto's side as hereditary princess and, from 1878, as queen of Italy. The queen won over Italians with her elegant outfits and her amiability, characteristics of a cultured and art-loving woman, mirrored in the details of Damiani jewellery.

Among the creations designed to celebrate Damiani's centenary, is the extraordinary Margherita Desert Garden secret watch.

Crafted with the same mastery with which nature shapes itself, the Margherita Desert Garden jewel watch is an alluring masterpiece in yellow and white gold, warmed by the hues of wonderful gemstones: brown and yellow fancy diamonds, colourless diamonds and emeralds, skillfully combined in a variety of cuts: princess, marquise and brilliant. It took the Maison’s expert goldsmiths more than 300 hours to create this masterpiece in gold, diamonds and precious stones, 250 to forge the structure and 90 to set the stones. Highlighting its new and innovative functionality, the Margherita Desert Garden secret watch stands out for its two striking central daisies, which can be delicately lowered to reveal the dials of the two underlying watches that can be set to two distinct time zones.
