Magelluna
Setting out to conquer the Moon…
The Magellan 1521 collection first took on a voyage around the Earth, like the famous navigator who inspired the first Magellan watch.
We are now invited to journey into space… to discover the Magelluna!
The latest creation in an astonishing series of watches, the Magelluna naturally maintains all the distinctive features that make it so different, starting with its amazing roundness. The original shape of its hands enables them to closely follow the outlines of the Moon which is depicted with stunning realism. Like the lunar crust, the central half-sphere of the watch is littered with meteorite impacts that have modified its surface and punctuated its history. While the resemblance is striking, it is above all the meticulous hand-crafted work of production and painting that makes each watch truly unique.
The Magelluna watch is presented in steel – which has undergone a special PVD/CVD blackening treatment – on an understated rubber strap that highlights the curves of this half-moon. Its case measuring 43.5 mm in diameter and 19 mm is powered by a self-winding ETA 2892 movement. The galvanic grey dial is adorned with Roman numerals, and the elegant tones endow this model with a resolutely galactic charm.
Technically speaking, the Magelluna has undergone a significant modification representing a substantial evolution: the sapphire crystal is no longer cemented to the case as it was until now, but is instead placed on a bezel that is screwed onto the case. This revision is the first major technical step undertaken by Mario G. Nargi – CEO of Magellan Watch – who is seeking to give the watch even more “horological” substance. Magellan is thereby affirming its ability to explore uncharted territory in the field of creative watchmaking.
Magelluna bears the imprint of all that is unique and reveals a passion for the exceptional.
