Linear Series 2
Power reserve: 72 h, 21600 vph
Representing the start of a whole new chapter in HAUTLENCE’s history, the Linear is bringing about many firsts while holding true to the brand’s DNA. The iconic TV shaped case, which has been associated with HAUTLENCE since its first models dating back to 2004, was revisited. The result is a rectangular TV shaped case with a sportier complexion and haute horlogerie finishing. Seamlessly extending outwards from the case is an integrated rubber strap, which can easily be swapped for different colors. This along with a water resistance of 10 ATM makes the new collection the perfect companion for any occasion.
Known for using creative ways and motion to display time in a different, fascinating fashion, the brand uses for the first time a linear retrograde hours display. This is done with the help of a long arm, reminiscent of the first HAUTLENCE movement, which crosses over the dial allowing for the spectator to watch how time gets pushed along.
Powering this choreographic passing of time is an inhouse automatic movement with a power reserve of 72 hours. At 6 o’clock beats a 1-minute tourbillon which mesmerizingly continues to revolve around itself. And if you take a closer look, you can just make out the double hairspring in the center of the balance wheel.
The Linear Series 2 features a steel case with black PVD coating and a black rubber strap. Black elements adorn the multi-layered 3D dial as well – the most prevalent being the linear hours scale reminiscent of the old TV screens of the 60s and 70s. Blue pops of color are further accentuated as a result.
Limited to just 28 pieces, the Linear Series 2 retails for CHF 63,000. A must see timepiece for both the aesthetically and technically inclined.
