Chaumet has always commemorated milestone moments with precious keepsakes, acting as a true confidant in its client’s lives.
The Liens design appeared very early on in Chaumet’s history, since the founding of the Maison in 1780. This design is part of a long lasting tradition of sentimental jewelry at Chaumet. The Liens Lumière watch collection continues upon this founding theme of sentimental jewelry, which appears in the Chaumet archives dating back to the Belle Époque and Art Deco periods.

Born from the eponymous jewelry collection, the Liens watch embodies emotional attachment in all its forms. It symbolizes the special relationship between two people, and binds their destiny. It calls upon us with regards to our relationship with others, with the world and with ourselves. It is both the emotional and sentimental dimension of this jewelry that comes to light marking all of the most important events of a lifetime. Serving as a lucky charm, the Liens Lumière watch is a piece to be acquired, to be given and to be passed on.
It was in the heart of the Chaumet design studio, hidden behind the walls of our Maison in the Place Vendôme, that the Liens Lumière watch was created. Inspired by the “art of detail” of the great haute couturiers of Paris, the Chaumet designers paid special attention to highlight the fluidity and delicate volumes of the watch’s design, adding the perfect amount of sparkling light. Combined with a subtle mix of audacity and wit, they created the true Parisian style embodied in a timepiece. Carefully and expertly thought out, the “lien” motif is in continuous movement as it draws its criss-cross signature around the profile of its timeless case, creating two handles that serve to hold the slender bracelet, giving way to an elegant wrist-watch.  This link, both physical and symbolic, is necessary to the watch’s design yet also to its spirit – creating a union and an energy, without being stiff or closed off. Slim yet precise, the clean and graphic lines draw a stylized link, and above all create a signature. 

The Liens Lumière watch is adorned with a traditional diamond setting done by hand, showcasing the all of the Parisian jewelers’ savoir-faire. The “art of the minuscule” underscores the dazzling sparkle of the diamonds and of the watch’s profile, attracting glances to the “lien” motif that intertwines the case, amplifying the symbolic dimension of the watch in its entirety.

The dial of the Liens Lumière watch plays upon contrasts and reflections. The two external arcs are cut in white mother-of-pearl, the comes from the South Seas. The two arcs have then been carefully rounded and polished, individually and by hand. This serves to attract and catch the maximum amount of light inside the watch. The slightly raised diamond hour indicator bars, the stylized number “12” and leaf-shaped hands enrich the iridescent shades of this incredibly airy and luminous material, smooth as well as feminine.

The patent alligator leather strap is both precious and feminine and is mounted on a pin buckle, whose design repeats the emblematic “lien” motif. Full of delicate details, the strap serves to accentuate the sophistication of this timepiece.
