Description

A Distinctive Timepiece Featuring Innovative Coating Technology

The most prominent feature of this timepiece is its exterior finish, achieved through a specialized coating developed over several years. The candy coating, created specifically for this watch, consists of five meticulously applied layers, resulting in a unique luster not found in other timepieces.

In general, painted finishes are prone to damage from daily wear or accidental drops, making it extremely challenging to apply coatings to watch cases. However, this timepiece utilizes a specially developed coating that achieves a Mohs hardness rating of 5.5, and it meets the ISO 1413 standard for shock resistance (1-meter drop test).

A Mohs hardness of 5.5 is equivalent to that of glass or stainless steel, providing the durability to resist scratches, abrasion, and impacts from everyday use.

A Newly Designed Hybrid Structure to Realize the Coating Technology

To accommodate the coating process, a completely original case structure was developed. The case consists of separate components: the outer shell, inner shell, and lugs. The outer shell is made of aluminum to reduce weight, while the inner shell is crafted from 316L stainless steel to ensure structural integrity. This hybrid construction enables the application of the special coating to the exterior while securely housing the precise movement within.

Design Concept of the Timepiece

The design of this timepiece draws inspiration from the 1964 Le Mans race car, which evokes the endurance and resilience required to withstand a 24-hour competition.

With the newly developed coating technology, the watch successfully embodies the color scheme reminiscent of the iconic 1964 Le Mans car.

Sustainability
The aluminum used in this watch is planned to be reused as recycled material.
