L.U.C Tech Régulateur
New aspect, new spirit
Breaking new bounds to astonish everyone: seldom has this constant Chopard theme found a finer illustration than in the new L.U.C Tech Regulator in steel with its unusual display and skeleton dial. A watch with an elegant, technical and sporty look, made in a limited series of just 250 timepieces.
Two years ago, Chopard gained the distinction of miniaturizing the famous regulator mechanism to the size of a wristwatch. Regulator is the term used to denote the master clocks by which the manufactures used to adjust their timepieces. For easier reading, the hours, minutes and seconds were displayed on separate axes. This technical prowess and the originality of the display won the L.U.C Quattro Régulateur the title of “Watch of the Year 2004”. Today, Chopard has reinterpreted this model, already a classic, in a new version allying modernity and audacity. Gold has given way to steel in the round case with its minimalist lines. The pierced dial enables the technical details of the movement to be glimpsed. The regulator displays with the minutes in the centre, hours at 3 o'clock and seconds at 6 o'clock compose an astonishing geometry enlivened by a fine play of colours and by the use of “Dauphine” hands in hollowed out blued steel. The display is completed at 9 o'clock by a second 24 hour time zone with day and night segments adjustable by means of a pushpiece. The L.U.C four barrel movement, manufactured by Chopard in Fleurier with a COSC chronometer certificate, has an 8 day power-reserve which is displayed on the dial at 12 o'clock. Its exclusive finish with fine straight line Côtes de Genève pattern and a rhodium-plated décor can be admired through a transparent case back. This new timepiece will delight collectors and devotees of eminently contemporary watches.
