Description

Founded in 2022, LANG 1943 is a brand that takes its creative inspiration from one of horology’s most influential watchmakers: Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, founder of Chronoswiss and the man that brought the see-through case-back to contemporary watch making.

Made in Switzerland, LANG 1943 timepieces boast distinguished Swiss mechanical movements based on a 1960s Marvin ebauche, meticulously enhanced and modernized. Eith exclusive access to the remaining vintage Marvin 700 ebauches, LANG 1943 stands as the sole brand to employ these historic movements. This positions LANG 1943 as a unique brand in the watch industry, rivaling established manufactures at a very attractive price point.

The brand´s watch designs are inspired by GRL`s era of birth: the 1940s. Consequently, the design for FIELD WATCH ONE relates to historical field watches the so called „dirty dozen“, a set of 12 timepieces for army personnel commissioned by Great Britain’s Ministry of Defense in the 1940s. FIELD WATCH ONE with it´s smokie grey fumé dial and old radium lume hour markers, paired with bespoke syringe hands is attractively detailed and set itself apart as a modern watch as oppose to a remake. It comes on a vintage soft leather strap, and due to it´s military heritage with an additional woven textile strap, being typical for 1940s military watches.
