The new FF39-40 by B.R.M Chronographes is the first automatic watch protected against vertical and horizontal shocks.
The Full-Floating Concept
B.R.M Chronographes with a sporty DNA has reinterpreted two fundamentals of the mechanical world :: silent blocks and belts.
Its "Full-Floating" concept is based on a complex architecture featuring five 1.2mm thick ogival-shaped shock absorbers and two 1mm nitrile straps cast in molds specially designed by the manufacture B.R.M..
The movement is housed in a self-supporting Fortal® HR anodized casing, a lightweight and highly resistant alloy derived from the aerospace industry, which allows the shock absorbers to perfectly hold the caliber in the vertical plane. Stainless steel micro-screws, machined by material removal, tighten a carbon bar to limit lateral movement of the cage. Two belts ensure the horizontal stability of the automatic movement, while the barrel, equipped with a constant force winding system, optimizes the spring force to guarantee a power reserve of 38 hours.
The distinctive sporty style of B.R.M Chronographes timepieces is accentuated by the visible rotor and its plunging view of the caliber. The balance wheel in Fortal® HR, cut from the bar and then anodized, ensures perfect chronometry in all six positions. Functional and ingenious, the FF39-49 combines sustainable materials and advanced technology with traditional watchmaking craftsmanship.
The Style and Shape
The technical complexity of this three-hand watch contrasts with the sleek style of its bronze case. It features an isosceles trapezoid shape with rounded angles, measuring 39mm x 40mm, suitable for all wrist sizes. The discerning eye will notice two other specific features of this French timepiece: the offset crown at 4 o'clock and the redesigned cylindrical-shaped lugs.
This timepiece with patented geometry and mechanics comes with a bracelet made of Alcantara® (a durable material often used in sports car seats), hand-finished and fitted with a bronze pin buckle composed of 19 pieces,engraved with B.R.M.
