Introducing Fading Hours by Quiet Club

Handcrafted in our Tokyo workshop by F.P. Journe Young Talent Award winning watchmaker Norifumi Seki, Fading Hours is the inaugural model from Quiet Club. This unique timepiece features a mechanical gong and hammer alarm, reminiscent of a minute repeater, producing a beautiful sound that gently guides you into a state of concentration and then signals when it’s time to move on.

The inspiration for Fading Hours stemmed from a daily challenge: the difficulty of consistently achieving and sustaining deep focus. While mobile phone alarms are commonly used for time management, they bring a constant stream of distractions. As watch enthusiasts, we recognized the potential of a mechanical watch to address this issue, but the market lacked a suitable solution. This realization sparked our journey to create Fading Hours.

When its alarm function is activated, Fading Hours aims to liberate the wearer from the distractions of everyday life, allowing time to fade into the background as you dedicate yourself to the work in front of you.

Technical Highlights of Fading hours

First-of-its-kind alarm function with a vertically mounted hammer that directly strikes the dial to produce a distinctive sound.  A machined white gold dial that serves as the alarm's gong, meticulously shaped and tuned to produce a uniquely harmonic tone. In-house Grand Feu enamel inlaid hour and minute markers.

Two sets of hands, one for timekeeping and the other (concealed when not in use) for setting the alarm time, crafted from hand polished Zirconium and German Silver.

A monopusher button integrated within the crown, enabling single-button operation to set, start, and reset the alarm for maximum ease of use for the wearer.

Original in-house designed case featuring a distinctive bowl shape profile that tapers down to the caseback, resulting in a shorter lug-to-lug distance compared to a cylindrical case. Produced by a supplier in Tokyo, from grade 5 titanium.
