Description

The Space Gold is a special edition meteorite dial, elevated through the innovative application of 18k rose gold plating—a groundbreaking achievement in dial manufacturing. This infusion of precious metal accentuates the natural beauty of the meteorite’s Widmanstätten pattern, adding captivating depth and a refined sense of elegance.

Breaking away from conventional methods like PVD coating seen in other colored meteorite dials, our approach utilizes the meteorite's high iron content to facilitate depositing real gold via electroplating. By soldering the dial feet directly onto the meteorite—rather than mounting it onto a brass base—we were able to machine a beveled date window straight into the dial itself, a hallmark of Formex design. This breakthrough is the result of extensive prototyping in our dial manufacture, nestled in the Swiss Jura mountains.

Housed in the 41mm Essence Leggera case and powered by a COSC-certified movement, this ultra-lightweight timepiece embodies cutting-edge Swiss precision and forward-thinking design. The 40g (1.4oz) case, crafted entirely in-house from Carbon Fiber Composite, offers a distinctive texture with a smooth, almost silky feel. Scratch-resistant Zirconium Oxide ceramic is used for both the bezel and crown, adding durability and a hint of elegance. Signature innovations—such as the patented Micro-Adjustment and Case Suspension Systems—ensure a level of wearing comfort that’s as advanced as the engineering within.
