Description

The Einser central seconds is what happens when 2 friends with a heart for watchmaking decide to go all in for their dream, creating their own watch.
We are honoured to present you our very first watch, the beginning of our journey, The Einser central seconds “Founders Edition”

Being located in Glashütte, Germany it was logical to keep touch with the traditions of German watchmaking. Meaning the use of 18kt gold chatons, heat blued screws, delicate untreated German silver and hand engravings. Our commitment to design, develop and manufacture in-house, along with a modern and innovative approach, forms the foundation of our brand’s DNA.

This results in a daring, but understated watch where certain elements take the spotlight.

The Einser “Founders Edition” showcases a thought through design that highlights our attention to detail and craftsmanship. The dial is a masterpiece in itself. Featuring an abstract relief engraving made by hand.

An eccentric circle showcases another hand engraving with Tremblage pattern.

These elements combined exemplify our dedication to traditional techniques whilst embracing contemporary aesthetics.

The case with stepped lugs seamlessly transitions to the indented case middle, milled from a solid block of steel, was designed by ourselves and proved to be a challenging hurdle to tackle.

At the heart of our watch is the meticulously crafted caliber KC001.1.

This manual winding movement with stop-seconds mechanism and central seconds, entirely designed and developed in-house, operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a 45-hour power reserve.

The elegantly placed power reserve indication, visible through a sapphire glass on the side of the case is a modern twist on classic watchmaking and doesn’t interrupt the dial or movement design.

At first glance the window only shows you the power reserve indication, but as you look more closely you can see that the movement is in fact alive by the swinging of the balance wheel.

The geartrain for this indication is completely uncovered and gives you a moment of joy seeing the parts of the differential work together when winding the watch.

We’ve used traditional manufacturing and hand finishing techniques to create and finish our components. 5 steel gears have individually chamfered and polished teeth, together with the polished screws, gold chatons and bushings they give a lightshow when handling the watch.

Having the central seconds allowed us to design the movement in multiple layers.

Going up from the seconds wheel, travelling to the middle of the movement and going down again through the minute wheel, you can see all the gears and their different speeds move in relation to each other.

The Kallinich Claeys Einser “Founders Edition” is a true embodiment of what we stand for: exceptional craftsmanship, innovative yet understated design and a deep respect for horological traditions.

To us, this is not just a watch, it is a piece of our legacy.
