It is with great pride and excitement that we present to you the Ianos Dytis — the final chapter in our trilogy of Greek dive watches.
Following the Avyssos, which honored the heroic sponge divers of Antikythera, and the Mihanikos, which paid tribute to the industrial era of diving in Kalymnos, the Dytis represents our vision of modern Greek diving — a watch that bridges legacy with innovation, function with symbolism, and history with forward-thinking design.
The Evolution of Greek Diving
The Dytis is more than just a continuation — it’s a culmination of our journey through Greek diving history and its design is to be seen as such.
It inherits the monobloc case construction of the Avyssos giving it rigidity and robustness and the bold design of the Mihanikos alluring to age of industrialized diving in Greece, but reinterprets and evolves the legacy of its predecessors, resulting in a contemporary, sleek, light watch, inspired by history but made for today.
Symbolism in Every Detail
At Ianos, design is never accidental and as all our watches, so does the Dytis come packed with symbolic elements, each inspired by our Greek identity, while also retaining and enhancing its practicality:
The “evil eye” small seconds hand, an ancient symbol guarding against misfortune, provides the wearer with a double-edged working indicator.
The 12 o’clock marker, with four horizontal lines inspired by the Greek flag, provides a central focal point and ample lume.
The indexes, shaped like the kampanelopetra, or diving stone are modeled after an actual stone used during our Avyssos video in Symi, a nod to divers honouring millennia old legacy today.
The blue dial, echoing the Greek flag represents the blue of the Aegean Sea while also recalling the iconic whitewashed architecture of the Cyclades.
With these, the Dytis does not simply tell time — it tells a story.
A Capable Companion
The Dytis doesn’t just look the part — it performs. At 41mm with a 49mm lug-to-lug length, the Dytis was made to fit every wrist size with absolute comfort. The use of Grade 2 titanium for the case, bezel, buckle and of course the screw-down crown and buckle makes the watch supremely light and comfortable, while the Sellita SW360-1 movement offers robust performance and dependability.
Engineered Comfort – The Signature Strap Channel
One of Ianos' defining innovations is our strap channel is also present in the Dytis. The Dytis case is designed with a strap channel that encompasses the strap in it, allowing it to seamlessly bond with the case and run through it instead of sitting under it, offering a sleeker look and a tighter, more ergonomic fit.
Doubling down on this, our redesigned, fixed bars offer a sleek internal incline which allow the strap to glide seamlessly through the strap channel minimizing wrist-to-strap spacing, creating a snug, streamlined fit that speaks to both form and function, making the Dytis our most comfortable watch yet.
