Chaumet, the Parisian jeweller, has been celebrating life and love since 1780.
In a starry night sky, two doves fly to the rhythm of an enchanted ballet. They hold a ring in their beaks, as a symbol of promise. Every hour, the birds meet, and join their rings together to form an 8, synonym of eternity.
Today the Maison opens a new chapter in its horological history, suffused with High Watchmaking savoir-faire, poetry and emotion.
Gone are the traditional hands. Gone also the hours and minutes that endlessly turn round and round in a routine manner. Here, the dial doesn’t just tell the time, it tells a story.
On a guilloché background, the sky is represented by night-blue enamel, sparkling with precious, gold-spangled stars. Opalescent enameled clouds cluster with delicacy.
The sculpted, engraved and diamond-set doves are the stars of the show: in the center, the first represents the hours, pointing at them with its ring; the second bird revolves around it to indicate the minutes.
The mechanism behind this ballet was designed and developed exclusively for Chaumet. The self-winding caliber CP12V-XII was executed in the purest tradition of Swiss watchmaking excellence and know-how.
The Creative Complication Colombes is a limited edition of 12 pieces. Its movement beats at the heart of a precious case, made of white gold, set with 300 brilliant-cut diamonds (2.54 carats). Its sides are decorated with delicate, hand-engraved clouds, and stars set with diamonds. This timepiece is also adorned with a cabochon-cut, night-blue sapphire crown, and with a finely sculpted folding buckle, representing a cloud and snow-set with brilliant-cut diamonds.
