The Emerald Green Brio, Right Bank Line - Union Collection
This year, Beaubleu Paris introduces the Emerald Green Brio automatic watch, one of six models in the Union collection unveiled in 2020.
Offered in a limited edition of 500 numbered pieces, it has a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 9.5 mm. Its polished and micro-grained steel case houses a sculpted basin dial, lacquered in emerald green, and surmounted by sapphire crystal.
Finally, three circular hands intersect and overlap, creating a constantly moving graphic: a true signature of the Maison. Reading time becomes poetic and contemplative; a vision dear to Beaubleu.
Circular Hands: A New Perception of Time
Signature of Beaubleu, the circular hands are inspired by the work of Galileo and highlight the beauty of kinetic movement.
On the Brio watch, the hour and minute hands possess a round dot at their end to ensure that the time is read with precision.
Treated with white Super-Luminova, the hour and minute hands contrast with the dial. The second's hand stands out with its malachite green, worked as a witness to the passage of time.
The Dial: Theatricality is Contrast
The Brio is adorned with a sculpted basin dial, providing real depth in the expression of light. An emerald green lacquer is added to the piece to highlight the vibrant appearance of the dial. All in nuance, this velvet color varies according to the light and thus accentuates the effect of profoundness. The hour markers in the center of the dial, are surrounded by link shaped polished minute markers.
The Case: Swiss Savoir-Faire and French Design
In this contrast search, we rethought the composition of the case to play better with the ambient light. This game is based on the alternation of micro-grained and mirror-polished surfaces to contemplate soft gradations, as well as white and black reflections throughout the case.
The added lugs encircling the round case are perforated along their lengths and give visual and sculptural lightness to the piece. In this quest for contrast, the exterior of the lugs is polished while the interior is finely micro-grained.
Ultimately, everything is dressed in a hand-sewn black Italian leather strap, tone on tone, and closed with an engraved double folding clasp.
Beaubleu Paris: The House of Round Hands
Beaubleu was co-founded in September 2017 by designer Nicolas Ducoudert Pham, with the launch of the first round- hands timepiece collection entitled B01.
Based on Baudelaire's famous phrase, “Le beau est toujours bizarre” (Beautiful is always strange) and its Parisian inspiration, Beaubleu works to create and install a contemplative, surprising, and poetic vision of time. Having an evolving experience thanks to designing to surprise the wearer daily is one of the leitmotivs of the Parisian brand.
The first collection comprised 4 models produced in 125 numbered copies. The success of this venture made it possible in 2020 to launch the second collection, Union, divided into two lines (Rive Droite and Rive Gauche). It is the result of a collaboration between the community of Beaubleu and its designer, a proximity treasured by Beaubleu.
