Skeleton movement
Central to the Hermès heritage, the horse plays a starring role in the Arceau Samarcande watch on which time chimes out beneath a Saint-Louis crystal dial featuring an openworked horse head.
This cut-out reveals the new skeletonised mechanical self-winding H1927 movement exclusively developed and crafted for Hermès.
The exquisitely slender mechanism features a highly precise openworked structure measuring just 28 mm in diameter and 4.95 mm thick, housed in a 38 mm white gold case. The three hammers of the minute-repeater mechanism chime on three gongs, delivering a richly nuanced sound signature.
The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the mechanism’s many subtleties, offering a glimpse of the minute-repeater hammers as well as the platinum micro-rotor adorned with the House’s iconic Duc Attelé motif.
A bleu encre alligator strap crafted using specific Hermès skills sets the finishing touch to this 24-piece Haute Horlogerie special edition.
