THE AIKON VENTURER

The AIKON concept takes on a new shape. After AIKON Quar tz in 2016 and the automatic line in 2018 comes the AIKON Venturer. It features all the components of the AIKON spirit: comfort, design and visual impact. This robust piece is designed for the intense, fast-paced life of major metropolises. Its modern characteristics are a per fect match for the workers who breathe life into the city.

Fully equipped for the challenges of everyday life, the AIKON Venturer is intended for today’s adventurers. Powerful, legible and comfortable, its sleek design marks it out as an unmistakable AIKON. Measuring 43 mm and water-resistant to 300 metres, this steel piece is a very sporty, elegant watch designed for everyday wear, for all occasions. Indeed, its unidirectional rotating bezel incorporates a countdown function that can measure any time, all the time, in any situation.

MODERN, URBAN AND STRIKING

The strength of a design lies in its ability to evolve. The AIKON V enturer is the latest manifestation of the AIKON collection. Power ful but not brutal, robust but not massive, moder n but not futuristic, this automatic watch with three hands and a date function has a real presence on the wrist. Its functional areas, level of detail and the energy emanating from the piece directly signal the connection to the AIKON’s aesthetic codes.

Crafted entirely from steel, its sur faces are satin-finished, while its edges are polished. For the very first time, the bezel’s six arms – a powerful, characteristic AIKON feature – have been given a functional role. They extend beyond the ceramic bezel so that it can be easily grasped and rotated. The arms are engraved with 10-minutes inter vals, a feature inspired by diving watches and which makes the AIKON Venturer a genuine “tool watch”. Its screwed case back features a “V agues du Jura” motif surrounding the engraved “M” logo in the centre, demonstrating the high standard of finishes given to the Venturer.

The AIKON Venturer features a blue or black sunray-brushed dial to give it a smar t feel and add a final touch to its versatility. The alternating round and rectangular hour markers are amply coated with Super-LumiNova. Meanwhile the baton hands are wide, refined and also adhere to the criterion of versatility. In this way, the AIKON Venturer forges a new aesthetic register in coherence with its underwater look and intense design, while meeting the finest quality requirements of the brand.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE ATTACHMENTS

This same motive also inspired a new strap made from rubber in a colour that matches the dial. Comfortable and waterproof, it can withstand the rain and high temperatures. A central strip of squares runs down its length, which recalls the angularity that is one of the AIKON’s design principles. It also features the Maurice Lacroix “M” logo, identical to the one that appears on the brand’s leather straps.

This strap is fixed to the lugs by means of the EasyChange system, which has two bars fitted with protruding prongs. They make it possible to remove the rubber strap in two steps and to replace it with the finely articulated 5-link satin-finished steel bracelet – a historical AIKON signature.

THE AIKON LINE

The AIKON Venturer is the descendant of the Maurice Lacroix Calypso, which included a diver’s version at the time. This steel watch was one of the brand’ s iconic models in the 1990s and bore the same design codes that live on in the AIKON V enturer. The integrated and water-resistant case, the six-arm bezel surrounding a flat sapphire crystal and the strap marked with an applied M logo made this model with its exceptional presence the brand’s most iconic product. In 2016, Maurice Lacroix produced a contemporary reinterpretation of this iconic piece with the quar tz AIKON. In 2018, an entire collection of AIKON Automatic pieces continued the saga. The year 2019 sees a new branch of the AIKON generation: sportier, just as modern and even more adventurous, designed to face up to the challenges and ambitions of today’s urban life.
