33 bis Quai des Bergues
Power reserve: 168 h, 21600 vph
The “33 bis Quai des Bergues” owes its design to one of Czapek’s stellar creations, the 3430 pocket watch dating from 1850. It is powered by an exclusive Czapek movement with a 7-day power reserve developed in collaboration with Chronode. The sandblasted bridges and the hand finishing ‘Anglage’ recall the satin of the nineteenth-century movements.
The ‘Grand Feu’ enamel dial, with its naturally domed shape, was designed to fit a modern wristwatch, but with the aesthetics of old pocket watches in mind (the subsidiary dials, the secret signature). Like a time travel…
The dial is swept over by hand polished, cambered and finely cut ’Fleur de Lys’ BlackGold hands and framed by a large 42.5 mm case available in several different types of gold, in titanium or in the ‘XO’ steel alloy, an anti-corrosive alloy used in the most extreme environments. This innovation marks a new chapter in the history of Czapek.
The historical roots of the Czapek Quai des Bergues go back a long way, but the execution is in tune with modern haute horlogerie. In addition, each owner can have a personal and almost invisible sentence engraved into the enamel dial. The phrase will only be visible when the sun reflects off the dial at a certain angle. It's the ultimate in understated personalization.
