Fleurier 19Thirty – black lacquered dial – 7-day power reserve
The House of BOVET has been bringing the finest touch to decorative arts, chronometry, mechanical ingenuity, and innovation since 1822. The artisans' dedication and passion, respect for tradition, and care for the most minute details are the hallmarks of exquisite and unparalleled high watchmaking.
To make this timepiece even more exceptional, BOVET 1822 owner Mr. Pascal Raffy has chosen to limit the number produced per year to just 800 units. In doing so he is redefining true luxury by manufacturing all components in the Maison's Swiss workshops using artisanal procedures, while also adding a sense of exclusivity to the collector experience.
This decision sharpens both the creativity and spirit of innovation of Mr. Pascal Raffy and the House's craftsmen, as demonstrated by the two new pieces that complete the 19Thirty collection this year.
A truly new face is being added to the iconic collection with this as-yet-unseen solid black lacquered dial. Once again, BOVET 1822's dial-makers have displayed great virtuosity born of a heritage and time-honored preeminence in watchmaking's decorative arts. No artifice distracts the collector's eye from this dial with a hypnotically understated design. The excellence of its fine craftsmanship alone is enough to arouse a sense of fascination and wonder.
Six layers of lacquer are consecutively applied to the metal base. These delicate operations require extreme dexterity and a virtually sterile environment. During these crucial steps, the slightest irregularity, the slightest foreign particle would only be revealed in the final step, wiping out the dozens of hours of work required up to that point. Between the application of each layer of lacquer, the dial is fired before the artisans can move on to the next step. As critical as the preceding operations, polishing smooths the surface of the dial, revealing its depth and immaculate brilliance.
The white-painted hour and second indications adopt the typography of the patented "Easel" timepiece manufactured by BOVET in the thirties, which inspired the contemporary 19Thirty collection.
This sumptuous dial displays the information provided by a caliber specially developed for this collection and, as usual, entirely manufactured in the BOVET 1822 workshops. Meeting the most demanding chronometric and aesthetic quality criteria, this caliber boasts a seven-day power reserve that draws its energy from a single barrel.
Available in steel or red gold, the iconic Fleurier case and its bow positioned at 12 o'clock offer perfect proportions and ergonomics. They add the finishing touch to the incomparable elegance of this timeless watch, which will be a collector's everyday companion whatever the time or circumstances, with the reliability and refinement that have characterized BOVET timepieces since 1822.
