Garde-temps contemporains et pendules historiques d’exception à voir au Musée Rath de Genève

02.11.2022

Geneva, 2 November 2022 – After New Dehli and Casablanca, it is in the prestigious setting of the Musée Rath in Geneva that the timepieces from more than 50 brands and nominated by the Academy of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) will be on display from 2 to 20 November.

This exceptional exhibition, organised in partnership with the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Genève (MAH), brings together 84 watches and 6 clocks in competition, giving rise to an unprecedented dialogue with patrimonial works selected from the watchmaking collections of the Musée d'art et d'histoire (MAH) and the Musée international d'horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds (MIH), a rare heritage that retraces the long history of watchmaking.

In addition to an extraordinary panorama of watchmaking creativity past and present, this exhibition that opened yesterday evening offers visitors and especially young people an opportunity to better grasp the magic of watchmaking free of charge by taking part in guided tours, lectures and introductory workshops organised with the Geneva Watchmaking School, thanks to the support of the Foundation for Professional and Continuing Education (FFPC). To register, send an email to inscription@gphg.org.

Selected by an international Academy composed of more than 650 significant stakeholders from the various sectors of the watch industry, the timepieces presented are in the running to win one of the 20 awards, including the prestigious “Aiguille d'Or” Grand Prix, which will be handed out on 10 November this year at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva on the occasion of the 22nd GPHG awards ceremony. Hosted by Edouard Baer, the ceremony will be broadcast live on GPHG.org. Euronews.com and by our specialised media partners, as well as in deferred mode on Léman Bleu and Hantang Culture.

About the GPHG: Created in 2001 and overseen since 2011 by a Foundation recognised as a public interest organisation, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has for over 20 years been pursuing its mission to celebrate and promote the watchmaking art, thanks to the support of its public and private partners, notably its main partner, FGP Swiss & Alps.
