Description

The Circluar 1 - Original Silver is the world's first model in 100% recycled stainless steel, sourced from the waste of watchmaking companies in the Jura and has a considerably lower carbon footprint than new steel. Local and traceable, this steel is used for the case of our watches. The movements are also "upcycled" and completely refurbished. The bracelet is made from 100% vegetable waste with a quality equivalent to traditional leather. This piece is entirely made in Switzerland with full transparency on suppliers (available on our website). The design of the Circular 1 is sober, pure and elegant. Equipped with three hands with date display at 3 o'clock.

Sustainability

This watch was developed with sustainability as its core element. It contains several sustainable attributes such as 100% recycled stainless steel, refurbished movements and even its strap is made from recycled plant material. ID watches stand out as the most eco-innovative on the market and at the forefront of circularity, a first in the Swiss watch industry. We want to move away from a linear approach where “we buy, consume and throw away” and we rely exclusively on a circular approach where waste is recycled. For example, the Reconvilier steel waste disposal center recovers the surplus which is then melted less than 200 kilometers from the Jura. This new “Jura gold” has never been used in watchmaking until now. The “4441” marking, is a designation for a premium quality of steel, and is affixed to the back of the case to certify its origin. The carbon footprint of this steel is considerably lower than new steel. This allows us to minimize any new extraction of raw material.
