Cultivating luxury without compromise; this might be the hallmark of the Classica collection by Julien Coudray 1518. This sober and refined piece deliberately asserts the brand's codes, featuring in a 43 mm case a 13-part enamelled dial, from which the name Julien Coudray 1518 has been erased. In its place is the Manufacture logo, engraved and enamelled on the gold index at 8 o'clock with at 12 o'clock the operating indicator window, a now essential brand signature. Once more striving for the exceptional and challenging time, Julien Coudray 1518 is marking its third collection with the same specific requirement from its previous creations: the exclusive use of precious or pure metals, and of grand feu enamel wrought using traditional ancestral techniques, passionately and boldly harnessing rare professions for 21st Century watchmaking art lovers.
In-house mechanical movement made from solid 18ct Pd125 white gold, hand-decorated and hand-engraved, enamelled 18ct gold service indicator, double-barrel hand-wound movement, boasting a power reserve of more than 100 hours. In-house escapement in gold and titanium. Case made from solid 18ct Pd125 white gold 43mm/9.82mm, sapphire crystal and case-back with anti-reflection coating, solid 18ct Pd125 white gold collar. Functions: Hour, minute, stop-second at 6 o’clock, 4-year service indicator. During time-setting, the seconds hand stops running at 12 o'clock, and restarts from this position once the crown is pressed back in, thereby making the setting of this mechanical timepiece among the most precise in the world. These functions are supplemented by an uncommon function: a service indicator. In a discreet window at 12 o'clock, the enameled gold oil drop symbol will appear after four years in operation, when the watch must be serviced. 13-part dial made from enamelled solid 18ct Pd125 white gold, traditional « grand feu » enamelled black and white domed cartouches. Second indication at 6 o’clock in enamelled (“flinqué”) 18ct gold. Grey and blue two-coloured hour and minute hands, blued second hand. Hand-stitched black alligator strap lined with alligator. Solid 18ct Pd125 white gold buckle with engraved pictogram. 95 % of the watch is made from one kilogram of solid 18ct Pd125 white gold: movement, case, dial, crown and buckle. No chemical treatment neither lacquer.
