Keeping in line with the philosophy of creating only hand made and exclusive timepieces, the newly created Masterpiece Chronograph continues the concepts of the atelier in Môtiers with a highly limited series of 10 wristwatches in 18-carat white gold.
The new Masterpiece Chronograph uses a regulator style dial layout, with the hours and minutes positioned at 6 o'clock. This naturally accentuates the extremely fine, hand made and blued chronograph seconds hand, without compromising legibility. A subdued style of engine turned dial guilloche was chosen that complements the large, asymmetrically positioned sub dial for the seconds at 11 o'clock and the sub dial of the minute counter at 3 o'clock. The visual clarity of the abovementioned chronograph hand and the large seconds sub dial accentuates the fact that this is a true gentlemen's chronograph, whose purpose is to measure small units of time.
The movement, case and dial have been executed without the slightest compromise, as can be expected from the Voutilainen atelier. The hand made, engine turned dial of 18-carat gold is entirely manufactured by hand using 18th century methods. According to the finest Swiss watchmaking traditions, the bridges, springs, levers, column wheel and many other parts have received hand-finished anglage; the surfaces of the bridges are adorned frosted surface finishing with 18 carat gold plating and the baseplate with circular graining.
